// MEASUREMENT · SAN FRANCISCO
Prove what the marketing does. Fix what it can’t measure. See what AI says about you.
Buyers now ask an AI who to call, and most businesses have never checked the answer — the ones that do often find a competitor’s name where theirs should be. Meanwhile marketing vendors get fired for one reason: nobody can prove the return. I don’t sell content or ad management. I build what sits underneath whoever does — the measurement, the conversion path, and the presence in AI answers — under California’s consent rules, and I show the before and after in the numbers you already report.
Who this is for. Law firms, dental and medical practices, professional-services firms, and seed-stage companies paying for ads, an agency, or a site with no attribution behind any of it. The business whose analytics stopped matching its CRM. The one whose form converts at one percent and nobody knows why. The one that has never checked how ChatGPT or Google’s AI describes it — and the one that checked and found it wrong.
Who it is not for. Anyone who wants content written, posts scheduled, or ads managed on a retainer. I’ll make the people who do those measurable, and I’ll build the pages they send traffic to, but I won’t be your agency.
What you’re afraid of, and what I do about it
- “AI is sending our customers somewhere else.” It may be, and you can find out today: the visibility report shows the exact answers the engines give about you, next to your top three competitors, and the sprint changes what they read.
- “Our agency is using AI to make slop, and we’re paying for it.” The measurement decides that, not an opinion: a baseline, attribution you can trust, and a monthly number the agency is held to.
- “We’re the firm the AI gets wrong.” The stale address, the service you stopped offering, the competitor it names instead of you — chased to the source and corrected, with tracking that proves the change.
- “The tracking itself is a liability now.” It can be; California enforces it. The rebuild measures what you sell under the consent rules, documented, with no tag firing that shouldn’t.
- “We can’t tell what any of it is doing.” Then nothing else matters until you can. The Read puts a number on every leak in one week, and the first Build is scoped from it.
The record behind the offer
I built and ran davidblaine.com through Drowned Alive, when it held over a million unique visitors a day and collected 300,000 fan messages. On event apps for On Location I wired the measurement that let two releases be judged on event revenue — up 12% and 17%. At Signal I integrated an acquired email-marketing platform into the core product and shipped first-party data segmentation on a platform carrying over a trillion transactions a day. I designed the brand platform for Stetson and the brand and product for CredSpark, whose CEO put it this way: “Charney can plug into your digital team, or be the team.” The campaign work — Kraft, Nintendo, Hewlett-Packard, Activision, Samsung — is on the dated record.
Four ways to buy it
AI-Visibility Report + Tracking Check
$2,000 · one day
- How ChatGPT, Google’s AI answers, and the other engines describe your business against your top three competitors — what they get right, what they get wrong, and who they recommend instead
- A tracking check: whether your analytics, your ads, and your CRM agree on what a lead is, and whether your consent setup would survive a California regulator
- A written report, same day, with the five fixes in priority order
The Day. Credited in full toward a Read or a Build within 60 days.
Three-Lens Growth Read
$4,500 · one week
- Three lenses in one week: measurement integrity and consent, the conversion path from first click to booked call, and AI-search visibility
- Where the leads leak, in writing, with the number attached to each leak
- One prioritized build plan, with the first Build scoped and priced
The Read. Measurement, conversion, and AI visibility, in one written plan with the first Build scoped.
Conversion Sprint
$7,500–$12,000 · two to four weeks
- The landing system: the pages, the forms, the booking path, and the follow-up — rebuilt around the way your best customers actually decide
- Measurement designed in before the first change, so the sprint is judged on booked calls and closed business, not on traffic
- Two to four weeks, reported before and after in your own numbers
A Build. Measured before and after, in the numbers you already report.
AI-Search Visibility Sprint
$6,500–$9,500 · two to three weeks
- The structure the engines read: entity hygiene, schema, citations, the pages that answer the questions buyers ask an AI
- The corrections — the wrong address, the stale service, the competitor it names instead of you — chased to their sources
- Tracking for the visits and leads that AI answers send you, so the sprint has a number
A Build. Structure, citations, entity hygiene, and the tracking that shows what AI answers send you.
Measurement Rebuild, Consent Included
$6,500 · two weeks
- Analytics that measure what you sell — calls, bookings, forms, purchases — with the definitions written down and agreed
- Consent handled the California way, documented, with no tag firing that shouldn’t
- The weekly view leadership actually reads, and the documentation your next vendor inherits
A Build. Analytics that measure what you sell, under California’s consent rules, documented.
CRM & Lifecycle Implementation
$6,500–$15,000 · three to six weeks
- Your CRM and lifecycle tools — HubSpot, Google, or what you already pay for — wired to the way your business actually sells: stages, handoffs, follow-ups, reporting
- Adoption treated as the deliverable: the people who sell trained on it, and the first month’s numbers read with them
- Three to six weeks, fixed before work starts
A Build. Your tools, wired to the way your business actually sells, with adoption treated as the deliverable.
Fractional Growth & Marketing-Technology Lead
$6,000 / month floor · about two days a month · embedded $12,000 / month
- The standing growth and marketing-technology lead: the numbers re-read every month, the agency held to them, the next experiment queued
- About two days a month at the floor; embedded, about a day a week, at $12,000
- Capped hours, month to month, billed in advance, two weeks’ notice to end it
The Retainer. Capped hours, month to month, the numbers re-read every month.
