Event Apps That Lifted Revenue 12–17%

// CASE RECORD

Delivered 2022–2024Measurement · revenueResult: +12% and +17% event revenue

The problem

Major live events — a winter festival in a London park, a collector-car auction, a bull-riding tour — each had a mobile app that was supposed to turn attendance into revenue. The apps were built on an aging framework, the customer data behind them did not resolve to real people, and nobody could tell which feature moved the number the event was actually judged on.

What I did

As lead software developer on the Consumer Experience team at On Location (Endeavor), I took the identity-resolution and customer-metrics work and the apps themselves. I rebuilt the outdated React Native framework into a scalable template the team could ship from, engineered the high-traffic releases across iOS and Android, and wired the measurement so each release could be judged against event revenue and attendance rather than downloads.

The result

The Hyde Park Winter Wonderland app reached 6 million users in its first week and the event’s revenue rose 12%. The Barrett-Jackson auto-auction app reached 2 million users in its first week and event revenue rose 17%. The Professional Bull Riders app tracked 10,000 statistics in near-real time and attendance rose 15%. Each number was a baseline the event already tracked, measured before and after — the only kind of result I report.
