Marketing Technology at Trillion-Transaction Scale
// CASE RECORD
The problem
A marketing-data company had acquired an email-marketing platform that did not look or behave like the product it had just become part of, enterprise customers who needed to segment first-party datasets without waiting on engineers, and a platform carrying more than a trillion transactions a day that seventy-plus engineers had to keep honest.
What I did
As senior software engineer I redesigned the acquired platform’s front end and integrated it into the primary product on the core brand standards. I implemented the React front ends for the enterprise products that let customers run advanced segmentation of their own first-party data. On the Skunk Works team I took week-long workloads down to minutes. With B2B partners I designed and built the dashboards they used to read their metrics, set priorities, and act on their schedules directly, and I built the internal dashboards and tooling the engineering organization ran on.
The result
One product instead of two, first-party segmentation in customers’ own hands, and operational tooling that held six-sigma uptime across more than a trillion daily transactions. This is the engineering under marketing: the measurement, the data, and the reliability that decide whether a campaign can be trusted — the part most marketing vendors do not do, and the part I do.
